International workshop: children and comunication Cuba 2016



The Cuban Radio and Television Institute, the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) under the organization of Children’s TV and Animation Creative Group and CREATIVA: Net for Children and Adolescents’ Communication, call producers, TV, radio and NGOs’ representatives,  independent realizers, directors, writers, scripters, graphic and sound designers, editors, programmers, professors and students of cinema and cultural production, video games and web contents designers,  and all related professionals from Cuba and abroad to participate at
INTERNAT
IONAL WORKSHOP: CHILDREN AND COMMUNICATION CUBA 2016,
which will be held on October 17 to 21 at Havana on the topic “Children, diversity and communication”.
For the organizers it will be useful and satisfactory to share with participants those possible solutions to urgent problems of common interest upon children’s contents creation, production, and distribution, especially in Latin America and Caribbean. The event will be aiming the following
GOALS
·         Contribute enhancing knowledge upon production of quality content aimed to raise children’s integral development.
·         Contribute fostering better production scenario, by means of direct contact between producers and distributors, making agreements for commercialization, item, technology, and service exchanges, coproduction and cooperation.
·         Motivate increasing of quality contents by means of screening and debating quality programs.
SUBMISSIONS AND RIGHTS
Submission is totally free, and calls for entries are open since July 25 to August 31, 2016.
Participants will have right to receive the workshop program, personal badge, and speaker and/or listener certificate, the right to take part of all activities, and to receive texts or material distributed at the event.
PARTICIPATION AREAS
Participants could take place as speakers or listeners. The final selection of participants is determined by quality and relevance of the paper proposed, applicants’ profiles and their relation to the main goals of the workshop.
Presentations will take place according the submissions registered and will be organized, under agreement with those applicants accepted, in any of following forms:
  • Master class
  • Discussion rounds
  • Panels
  • Workshops
  • Free report presentations
  • Forums
  • Posters
  • Videos
SUBJECTS
Subjects around central topic Children, diversity and communication will be:
  • Current models of production management
  • Children and adolescents’ imaginaries and narratives at the new media consumption contexts
  • Communication policies for the integral development of children and adolescents
  • Training of media communication professionals through child-as-right-subject oriented methodologies
  • Social research as a support of  efficient communication with publics and the influence on their integral development
PRESENTATION NORMS
Every presentation will be registered by the following specification card:
  • Complete title
  • Specific subject
  • Author’s (or authors’) full name, (if more than one, indicate the speaker)
  • Country
  • Work site
  • Position
  • Identification number
  • e-mail
  • abstract (no more than 250 words with introduction, development (methodology and results) and conclusions)

Specs cards will be accepted until August 31, 2016 and have to be sent to the following e-mail address: infantiles@tvc.icrt.cu.

A scientific committee formed by specialists on children and communication will notify, during the first week of September 2016,  the acceptance or rejection of your application and will ask for the delivery of the complete report, poster or video and will inform the form of your presentation.

The norms for delivering final report versions are following:
  1. Written down at 1.5 spaces, Arial 12 points printing type, letter size (8½ x 11 inches) paper, upper and bottom margins 2.5 cm and right and left margins 3 cm.
  2. Total extension: 15 to 20 pages, with introduction, development (highlighting the results) and conclusions.
  3. Because of the reception conditions, via e-mail, it is begged not to overload the reports with tables nor images.
Posters or DVDs with videos should be ship to:
